231-11 The Seal
And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where you are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.
During the first Pesach (Passover), the House of Yashar’El applied blood to the doorposts of their houses. When the Destroyer saw the blood, he passed over the house. He did not enter into their houses and kill the firstborn children. The blood applied to their houses was a sign that protected them from harm. However, the Egyptians did not apply blood to the doorposts of their houses. As a result, the Destroyer entered their houses and killed the firstborn children. Here is the testimony regarding this event.
For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the mighty ones of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am Yahuah. And the blood shall be to you for a sign [H226] upon the houses where you are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.
The blood from the Pesach (Passover) lamb was a “sign” or “mark”. If Messiah Yahusha is fulfilling the role as the Pesach Lamb, then we would expect his blood to be a “sign” as well. The Hebrew word translated as “sign” in this passage is “owt” and it is defined by The Ancient Hebrew Lexicon of the Bible written by Jeff A. Benner as:
TWA ( fem., אות / ot) Translation: SIGN Definition: The motion, gesture, or mark representing an agreement between two parties. A wondrous or miraculous sign. KJV Translations: sign, token, ensign, miracle, mark Strong’s Hebrew #: h.0226 Aramaic Spelling: את Strong’s Aramaic #: a.0852
TWA אות Definition: The coming toward a mark. A standard, or flag, with the family mark hangs as a sign. An agreement or covenant by two where a sign or mark of the agreement is made as a reminder to both parties.
“Owt” is a “mark” or “sign” representing an agreement between two parties. However, it can also simply mean “sign” or “mark” like a signature as illustrated in the following passage:
Every man of the children of Yashar’El shall pitch by his own standard, with the ensign [H226] of their father’s house: far off about the tabernacle of the congregation shall they pitch.
An “owt” in this passage is a “mark” associated with the identity of someone like our signature is today. Our signature is essentially our “seal” of approval. When the Destroyer saw the “mark” on the houses during the first Pesach, he passed over those houses and did not touch anyone who was inside the house. They were protected from harm.
The blood was a “mark” that protected those who dwelled inside the house.

This is another pattern observed in the Word of Yahuah. In the following passage, Yahuah told His messenger to “mark” the foreheads of people who were distraught over the abominations being committed in their community.
And Yahuah said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Yerushalayim, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof. And to the others he said in my hearing, Go after him through the city, and smite: let not your eye spare, neither have pity: Slay utterly old and young, both maids, and little children, and women: but come not near any man upon whom is the mark; and begin at my sanctuary. Then they began at the ancient men which were before the house. And he said unto them, Defile the house, and fill the courts with the slain: go forth. And they went forth, and slew in the city.
Those who received the “mark” were protected. Those who did not have the “mark” were slaughtered. This same pattern is observed in Revelation. Testimony says that a messenger from the east has the “seal” of Yahuah and was told to “seal” the servants of Yahuah in their forehead.
And I saw another messenger ascending from the east, having the seal of the living Elohiym: and he cried with a loud voice to the four messengers, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea, Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our Elohiym in their foreheads. And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed a hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Yashar’El.
This “seal” prevents them from being hurt. It protects them. Testimony also says that those who did not have the “seal” of Yahuah were tormented.
And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power. And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of Elohiym in their foreheads. And to them it was given that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months: and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion, when he strikes a man.
This event in Revelation parallels the protection placed upon the House of Yashar’El when the fourth plague began. They experienced the first three of the ten plagues in Egypt. However, they were protected from the last seven plagues. Here is the testimony:
And I will sever in that day the land of Goshen, in which my people dwell, that no swarms of flies shall be there; to the end you may know that I am Yahuah in the midst of the earth. And I will put a division between my people and thy people: tomorrow shall this sign be.
And Yahuah shall sever between the cattle of Yashar’El and the cattle of Egypt: and there shall nothing die of all that is the children’s of Yashar’El.
And the hail smote throughout all the land of Egypt all that was in the field, both man and beast; and the hail smote every herb of the field, and broke every tree of the field. Only in the land of Goshen, where the children of Yashar’El were, was there no hail.
But against any of the children of Yashar’El shall not a dog move his tongue, against man or beast: that you may know how that Yahuah does put a difference between the Egyptians and Yashar’El.
Testimony does not indicate that a “seal” was placed upon the foreheads of Yashar’El in the first Pesach, but we do see them being protected as if they had a “seal” upon them. This was before the blood was applied to their houses during the last plague.

The Levitical High Priest wore a golden plate which is like a crown upon his forehead that said, “Set-apart to Yahuah”. This is a physical object placed upon his forehead.
And you shall make a plate of pure gold, and grave upon it, like the engravings of a signet, Set-apart to Yahuah. And you shall put it on a blue lace, that it may be upon the miter; upon the forefront of the miter, it shall be. And it shall be upon Aahron’s forehead, that Aahron may bear the iniquity of the set-apart things, which the children of Yashar’El shall hallow in all their set-apart gifts; and it shall be always upon his forehead, that they may be accepted before Yahuah.
The plate was engraved like a “seal” was engraved. The Hebrew word translated as “signet” is “chotham” and it is a direct reference to a “seal”. Based on this evidence, we can conclude that the “Seal” of Yahuah includes this phrase when He places it upon the foreheads of His servants. This is a pattern repeated over and over.
- The blood on the doorposts of the houses protected the inhabitants inside the house in Shemoth (Exodus) 12:12-13.
- The House of Yashar’El was protected from the last seven of ten plagues placed upon Egypt. This is noted in Shemoth (Exodus) 8:22-23, 9:4, 9:25-26 and 11:7.
- The mark on the foreheads of the people protected them from being killed in Yechezqel (Ezekiel) 9:4-7.
- The Seal of Yahuah will be placed upon the foreheads of His servants and no harm will come to them Revelation 7:2-4 and 9:3-4. They are protected.
- The Levitical High Priest wore a crown upon his forehead that said, “Set-apart to Yahuah”. It is the “Seal” of Yahuah.
We would expect the blood of Yahusha to protect people as well since he has fulfilled the Pesach Prophecy. Let’s analyze the first Pesach (Passover) and determine the purpose of the lamb. Testimony says that it prevented the firstborn from experiencing death.
Is this a reference to the First Death mentioned in Bereshith (Genesis) 3:14-24 or the Second Death mentioned in Debarim (Deuteronomy) 30:15-20?
At the time of the first Pesach (Passover), the Second Death had not even been spoken into existence by Yahuah Elohiym. How can Yahuah save people from the Second Death, if they had not been saved from the First Death yet?

The Word of Yahuah cannot be changed or deleted. It stands forever.
Principle: The Word of Yahuah stands forever. His Words are like the Natural Laws of the Universe and cannot be changed or deleted. They must be fulfilled. This is based on the following Law.
The grass withers, the flower fades: but the Word of our Elohiym shall stand forever. (Yeshayahu/Isaiah 40:8)

Yahuah is bound by His own Laws. He cannot break a Law once it has been established. Bereshith (Genesis) 3:14-24 cannot be left unfulfilled. The curses and death were specifically pronounced upon Adam which would extend to all of his offspring. He and his offspring were obligated to fulfill those Words in Bereshith 3:14-24.
Principle: The Words of Yahuah must be fulfilled. Not one single Word spoken by our Father can be left unfulfilled.
For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, and returns not there, but waters the earth, and makes it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the Sower, and bread to the eater: So shall My Word be that goes forth out of My Mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing where I sent it. (Yeshayahu/Isaiah 55:10-11)
Link to Study: What does it mean to “fulfill”?
The House of Yashar’El was given the Covenant at Mount Sinai but it could not be fulfilled until they had been redeemed from the First Death. They had to put faith in Yahuah that He would provide redemption so they could receive the rewards promised in this Covenant agreement.
In the first Pesach, emphasis was placed upon the firstborn children. The rest of the children were unaffected. Yahuah is telling us that His redemption is for the firstborn children. The firstborn son mentioned in the Creation account is Adam. He was created from the dust of the earth.
And Yahuah Elohiym formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
If Adam was alive during the first Pesach (Passover), the Destroyer would have killed him because he is the firstborn son. Bereshith (Genesis) 3:14-24 are the Words that allowed the Destroyer to kill all of the firstborn. Adam died and ALL of his children after him also died. This is why we are not protected from the Destroyer. The firstborn children in the first Pesach represent Adam and ALL of his offspring. Based on the Pesach Prophecy, blood would need to be applied to us to prevent the Destroyer from killing us.
The lamb in the first Pesach was a placeholder for a Kinsman Redeemer that would come later. Yahusha is the Pesach Lamb. He is our Kinsman Redeemer. His blood covers Adam’s debt. Because Yahusha died in his place fulfilling the Words spoken in Bereshith (Genesis) 3:14-24. Adam and his offspring are no longer required to pay this debt.
Adam and ALL of his offspring will be resurrected back to life. The Destroyer has passed-over the firstborn children. We will all live again. The blood of Yahusha protects Adam from the first death. Because we are Adam’s children, this redemption has been passed to us. The Destroyer will pass-over us as well and none of us will perish forever from the first death.
Yahusha’s blood protects us from the first death.
All of us are going to be resurrected from the first death. The Destroyer has passed-over us. Death is no longer a permanent condition because of Yahusha’s redemption. Now, Yahuah can fulfill the promises mentioned in the Sinai Covenant. The first promise fulfilled in the Covenant given at Mount Sinai was the resurrection of Messiah Yahusha.
Yahusha lived → Yahusha died the First Death → Yahusha was resurrected
Yahuah operates according to His own Laws. The resurrection of Messiah Yahusha Ben David had to be permitted in the Laws of Yahuah in order for it to be completed. This Law is found in the following promise in the Sinai Covenant.
See, I have set before you this day life and good, and death and evil; In that I command you this day to love Yahuah your Elohiym, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments, that you may live and multiply: and Yahuah your Elohiym shall bless you in the land where you go to possess it. But if your heart turn away, so that you will not hear, but shall be drawn away, and worship other mighty ones, and serve them; I denounce unto you this day, that you shall surely perish, and that you shall not prolong your days upon the land, where you pass over Yarden to go to possess it. I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore, choose life, that both you and your seed may live: That you may love Yahuah your Elohiym, and that you may obey his voice, and that you may cleave unto him: for he is your life, and the length of your days: that you may dwell in the land which Yahuah swore unto your fathers, to Abraham, to Yitzhak, and to Ya’aqob, to give them.
This passage says people will receive life NOT death if they do the following actions:
- Love Yahuah
- Walk in His Ways
- Guard His commandments, statutes and judgements
- Hear and Obey His Voice which is His Word
- Cleave to Him
If people do these things, they will receive life without death.
Life without death is eternal life.
This promise in the Covenant given at Mount Sinai promises eternal life to those who do the actions mentioned in this passage. Messiah Yahusha did ALL of these things. For this reason, Yahuah was permitted within the bounds of His Law to resurrect him. If Messiah Yahusha had failed to do any one of these actions, Yahuah Elohiym could not have resurrected him from the dead. He would not be permitted to do so. Yahuah Elohiym can do anything as long as it is permitted within the bounds of His own Laws. Here is the truth:
The resurrection of Messiah Yahusha Ben David is evidence that he obeyed ALL of the commandments of Yahuah written in the Law of Moshe.
This means that Yahusha inherited a life without death because he followed these instructions. This passage in Debarim (Deuteronomy) 30:15-20 also says that we will inherit a land of promise. Yahusha ascended into heaven and is standing on the right hand of our Father. Here is the evidence.
But he, being full of the Set-apart Spirit, looked up steadfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of Elohiym, and Yahusha standing on the right hand of Elohiym, And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of Elohiym.
This is fulfillment of the following prophecy.
A Tehillah of David. Yahuah said unto my Adonai, you sit at My Right Hand, until I make your enemies your footstool.
Yahusha will sit to the right hand of our Father until his enemies have been subdued. The wrath of Yahuah as described in Revelation with its associated plagues will certainly subdue the enemies of our Messiah. Yahusha is with Yahuah. He is in the Presence of Yahuah which means that Yahusha is in the Garden of Eden. Testimony illustrates that Yahuah lives and walks in the Garden of Eden.
And they heard the Voice of Yahuah Elohiym walking in the Garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of Yahuah Elohiym amongst the trees of the Garden.
Based on this evidence, we can conclude that Messiah Yahusha is also in the Garden of Eden with Yahuah. This means that Yahusha Ben David has access to the Tree of Life which allows one to live forever. So, no matter how much time has passed on this earth, Yahusha is still young, alive and well. He is waiting for his enemies to be subdued by Yahuah.
The resurrection is confirmation to us that Yahuah has accepted Messiah Yahusha’s offer for the redemption of mankind. His death has satisfied the debt in Bereshith (Genesis) 3:14-24. Everyone can be and will be resurrected back to life from the first death and the Covenant given at Mount Sinai can be fulfilled to its full capacity. Everyone who has fulfilled the instructions in this Covenant will be resurrected and will receive a life without death. Obviously, this has not happened as yet. The timing for this fulfillment is mentioned in the following prophecy:
And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of Elohiym, and for the testimony which they held: And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Yahuah, Set-apart and True, do you not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellow servants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.
Yahuah is going to resurrect ALL of His people at once so those who are already dead must wait until everyone who is meant to die will die. Then, Yahuah can fulfill the promise mentioned in Debarim (Deuteronomy) 30:15-20 to everyone who has put their faith in His Words. They will ALL receive a life without death. This is also mentioned Revelation:
And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Yahusha, and for the Word of Elohiym, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Messiah a thousand years. But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. Blessed and set-apart is he that has part in the first resurrection: on such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of Elohiym and of Messiah, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
The Second Death has no power over those who are in the first resurrection. They had put their faith in the Word of Yahuah. His Word says that people will receive life without death if they love Yahuah; walk in His Ways; guard His commandments, statutes and judgements; hear and obey His Voice which is His Word and cleave to Him. People who do these things are immune to the Second Death. The people who will rule and reign with Messiah have followed Yahusha’s example. They hear and obey ALL of our Father’s commandments. This is the group who will be in the first resurrection and will rule and reign with Messiah Yahusha for a thousand years.
This evidence illustrates that the resurrection of the righteous occurs at the same time Yahusha Ben David returns as King at the end of 6000 years. This would be the beginning of the Sabbath reign when the 7000 years begin which will complete the second week of Creation. Here is an illustration:

This passage in Revelation defines these people as “blessed and set-apart”. The “Seal” of Yahuah worn by the Levitical High Priest said, “Set-apart unto Yahuah”. This passage also says that these people in the first resurrection will be “priests” of Elohiym and our Messiah. This is supported by the following testimony:
Now therefore, if you will hear and obey My Voice indeed, and keep My Covenant, then you shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine: And you shall be unto me a Kingdom of Priests, and a set-apart nation. These are the words which you shall speak unto the children of Yashar’El.
The Hebrew word translated as “priests” is “kohaniym” and is not a word specifically related to the Levitical Priesthood. It is a role with a certain set of responsibilities. It is an office. We see the same terminology in this passage as we do in Revelation. In order to fulfill this office, the people must hear and obey the Voice of Yahuah and guard the Covenant given at Mount Sinai. This is in agreement with Debarim (Deuteronomy) 30:15-20 and Revelation 20:4-6.
Shemoth (Exodus) 19:5-6 will not be fulfilled to its full capacity until the resurrection of the entire House of Yashar’El occurs. These are people who have followed the instructions in the Sinai Covenant.
Messiah Yahusha’s redemption has essentially activated the Sinai Covenant.
The Sinai Covenant also states the promises given to those who do not follow His instructions. These people do not love Yahuah; they do not walk in His Ways; they do not guard His commandments, statutes and judgements written in the Law of Moshe; they do not hear and obey the Voice of Yahuah; they hear and obey the voices of other authorities; and they do not cleave to Him in the bond of Covenant. Debarim (Deuteronomy) 30:15-20 says they will receive curses and death… the Second Death. This is the same outcome Adam and Chavah (Eve) received because they had chosen to hear and obey the voice of someone else as well. This promise to those who chose to disregard the Laws of Yahuah in Debarim (Deuteronomy) 30:15-20 is also mentioned in Revelation.
And I saw a Great White Throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before Elohiym; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the Book of Life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and sheol delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and sheol were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.
The Second Death is the fulfillment of Debarim (Deuteronomy) 30:15-20 to its full capacity. This has not happened as yet. These people were judged according to their works. Did they hear and obey the Voice of Yahuah or did they hear and obey the voice of someone else like the first Adam? Yahuah Elohiym, the Judge of ALL the earth, will look at their actions and determine their eternal outcome. It is our actions that matter because we will all be living in a community together for eternity. People who lie, steal, cheat and commit idolatry will corrupt the eternal community. They cannot be allowed to be a part of it. This is why repentance is so important. This passage in Revelation mentions the Book of Life which is also mentioned in Shemoth (Exodus).
And Moshe returned unto Yahuah, and said, Oh, this people have sinned a great sin, and have made them mighty ones of gold. Yet now, if you will forgive their sin; and if not, blot me, I pray you, out of your book which you have written. And Yahuah said unto Moshe, whosoever has sinned against me, him will I blot out of My Book.
Yahuah says that those who sin against Him will be blotted out of the Book of Life. This is in agreement with Debarim (Deuteronomy) 30:15-20, and Revelation 20:11-15. It is also in agreement with the words of Messiah Yahusha.
Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which ALL that are in the graves shall hear his voice, And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.
Yahusha confirms that ALL dead people will be resurrected. Those who have “done good” will be resurrected to life without death. Those who have “done evil” will be resurrected to curses and death… the Second Death. In this testimony, ALL people are resurrected from the First Death but not all people will experience the Second Death. Yahusha uses the same words our Father used in Debarim (Deuteronomy) 30:15-20.
See, I have set before you this day life and good, and death and evil;
“Doing good” is defined as loving Yahuah; walking in His Ways; guarding His commandments statutes and judgements written by the Prophet Moshe; hearing and obeying His Voice which is His Word and cleaving to Him in the bond of Covenant. Those who “do evil” do not do these things. The words of Yahusha are in alignment with the Words of our Father. Yahusha is telling his followers that the promises in the Sinai Covenant will be fulfilled to their full capacity.
The blood of Messiah Yahusha does not protect people from the Second Death.
There is no need for any redemption from the Second Death. WE can prevent ourselves from experiencing this death by following the instructions given in the Covenant at Mount Sinai and summarized in Debarim (Deuteronomy) 30:15-20.
- Love Yahuah
- Walk in His Ways
- Guard His commandments, statutes and judgements
- Hear and Obey His Voice which is His Word
- Cleave to Him
If we do these things, we avoid the Second Death and have no need for a Kinsman Redeemer to save us from this death. No one else has to suffer the torture and death by crucifixion ever again. We can prevent this through the act of repentance. Our salvation requires participation from both parties.
Salvation is a Two-Part Process
The First Step: We repent which is the process of restoring ourselves to our original state without sin as if we were living in the Garden of Eden today. This is the actions we must do to communicate to our Father that we want to be restored to our previous state of existence.
The Second Step: We cannot redeem ourselves. We don’t have the means to do so. Only our Father can restore us to our original position. This is His part in our Salvation and it is a free gift given to ALL. But only those who complete the First Step will be restored to their original position.
The Sinai Covenant says that people who hear and obey the Voice of our Father will not die. They will live. They have chosen life and will not experience “death” again. Here is an illustration.

People who have not obeyed these Words spoken in Debarim (Deuteronomy) 30:15-20 have chosen curses and death… the Second Death. Here is an illustration:

The resurrection has not occurred as yet which means Debarim (Deuteronomy) 30:15-20 has not been fulfilled to its full capacity. If Yahusha had not redeemed us from the First Death, then the Words spoken in Debarim (Deuteronomy) 30:15-20 would have no meaning. In fact, the whole Covenant given at Mount Sinai would be pointless. Thanks to Messiah Yahusha Ben David, we have been delivered from the First Death and now have an opportunity to inherit eternal life through the Covenant given at Mount Sinai. HalleluYah!
