69-1 The Ark and Our Heart

Torah Portion 69-1 Shemoth (Exodus) 25:1-27:19

These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb wherever he goes. These were redeemed from among men, being the first-fruits unto Elohiym and to the Lamb. And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of Elohiym.

REVELATION 14:4-5

The Tent of Appointment erected in the wilderness by the Prophet Moshe is an outline of a woman, representing the House of Yashar’El. Testimony says that she is the wife of Yahuah Elohiym.

  • The outer curtains are made of linen with scarlet, blue and purple threads added. This represents white linen clothing.
  • The Altar of Burnt Offering is the first item seen as we enter the courtyard. Burnt offerings symbolize complete submission to Yahuah. It is loving Him with all our hearts, souls and might.
  • The Bronze Laver is next and is used for washing hands and feet before entering the Set-apart place. This represents the necessity for being a clean vessel before consummation can occur.
  • The Set-apart Place and the Most Set-apart Place are covered in Rams’ skins which represents the skin on our bodies.
  • The entrance is covered by a veil and represents a woman’s hymen. She is a virgin.

Here is an illustration:

This is a characteristic of those in the House of Yashar’El described in the following testimony:

These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb wherever he goes. These were redeemed from among men, being the first-fruits unto Elohiym and to the Lamb. And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of Elohiym.

Revelation 14:4-5

This a description of the 144,000 in the book of Revelation. This text is telling us that “virgins” in the eyes of Yahuah are those who are without fault before His throne which means they do not sin. They obey ALL of the Laws of Yahuah written in the Torah. This is in complete alignment with the pattern in the Tabernacle. When the veil was rent at the death of Messiah, the marriage between Yahuah and His people was consummated.

And, behold, the veil of the Temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;

Mattithyahu/Matthew 27:51

Yahusha Ben David was the firstborn of the resurrection.

But every man in his own order: Messiah the first-fruits; afterward they that are Messiah’s at his coming.

1 Corinthians 15:23

For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

Romans 8:29

This is a parallel of the actual physical virgin birth and the spiritual virgin birth of our Messiah. It is two-fold.

  • Inside the set-apart place is the table of showbread which has twelve loaves of unleavened bread upon it at all times. We are to eat spiritual bread that contains no leavening. This means that we do not absorb teachings that contain a mixture of our Father’s Word and doctrines initiated by men and women.
  • The menorah is also located inside the set-apart place. It is filled with oil representing the Set-apart Spirit which keeps our light burning. Our messiah said we are to be the “light of the world”.

You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it gives light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Mattithyahu/Matthew 5:14-16

When we hear and obey our Father’s Laws, we are bearing the Light of our Father and are shining stars in the darkness of this current world system.

  • The third item in the set-apart place is the Altar of Incense which represents our prayers to our Father in Heaven. Our words and the contents of our hearts ascend into heaven before the Throne of Yahuah. This is illustrated in the following testimony:

And another messenger came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne. And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before Elohiym out of the messenger’s hand. And the messenger took the censer, and filled it with fire of the altar, and cast it into the earth: and there were voices, and thunderings, and lightnings, and an earthquake.

Revelation 8:3-5

These three things represent things that come from inside ourselves. These are simply overviews. In this lesson, we want to focus upon the Ark of the Covenant.

The Most Set-apart place contains the Ark of the Covenant covered with the mercy seat. This represents our hearts. Inside of us, there is a “seat of authority”. Our freewill allows us to be the ruler of our own hearts which produces a certain set of actions. Our freewill allows us to choose another man or woman to sit in the “seat of authority” our hearts which produces a completely different set of actions. Or we can exercise our freewill and allow Yahuah Elohiym to sit upon the “seat of authority” in our hearts. Someone who belongs to the House of Yashar’El has placed our Father in the “seat of authority” of their hearts. This is illustrated in the ancient Hebrew definition of “heart” in The Ancient Hebrew Lexicon of the Bible written by Jeff A. Benner.

BL (לב) Object: Heart, Flame, Thirst, Loin Abstract: Think Definition: The consciousness of man is seen as coming from deep inside the chest, the heart. Thirst as an Inside desire for water. Ancient Hebrew: The pictograph L is a picture of the shepherd staff representing authority, the B is a picture of a tent representing what is inside. Combined these mean “authority inside”.

The Ark of the Covenant represents this seat inside our spiritual hearts. The contents of the Ark of the Covenant represent the things that are in the hearts of those who are in the House of Yashar’El. We see kerubiym guarding the mercy seat and the contents inside the Ark. The Ten Debarim and the Law or Torah are inside the Ark of the Covenant.

And you shall make two Kerubiym of gold, of beaten work shall you make them, in the two ends of the mercy seat. And make one Kerub on the one end, and the other Kerub on the other end: even of the mercy seat shall you make the Kerubiym on the two ends thereof. And the Kerubiym shall stretch forth their wings on high, covering the mercy seat with their wings, and their faces shall look one to another; toward the mercy seat shall the faces of the Kerubiym be. And you shall put the mercy seat above upon the ark; and in the ark you shall put the testimony that I shall give you. And there I will meet with you, and I will commune with you from above the mercy seat, from between the two Kerubiym which are upon the ark of the testimony, of all things which I will give you in commandment unto the children of Yashar’El.

Shemoth/Exodus 25:18-22

Take this Scroll of the Law [Torah], and put it in the side of the Ark of the Covenant of Yahuah your Elohiym, that it may be there for a witness against you.

Debarim/Deuteronomy 31:26

The Ten Debarim or Ten Words as well as the entire Torah are placed inside the Ark of the Covenant. If this is a representation of us, then the Ten Debarim and the Torah would be in our hearts. King David is an example:

I delight to do your will, O my Elohiym: yea, your Law [Torah] is within my heart.

Tehillim/Psalms 40:8

King David was a man after our Father’s own heart and he placed the Torah of Moshe upon the Mercy Seat in his heart.

An omer of manna is also inside the Ark of the Covenant as well. We are to eat the bread of Heaven and not the doctrines of men. Our Father provides us our food just as a husband provides for his family.

And Moshe said, This is the thing which Yahuah commanded, Fill an omer of it to be kept for your generations; that they may see the bread wherewith I have fed you in the wilderness, when I brought you forth from the land of Egypt. And Moses said unto Aaron, Take a pot, and put an omer full of manna therein, and lay it up before Yahuah, to be kept for your generations.

Shemoth/Exodus 16:32-33

And you shall remember all the way which Yahuah your Elohiym led you these forty years in the wilderness, to humble you, and to prove you, to know what was in your heart, whether thou would keep his commandments, or not. And he humbled you, and suffered you to hunger, and fed you with manna, which you knew not, neither did your fathers know; that he might make you know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of Yahuah does man live.

Debarim/Deuteronomy 8:2-3

We are to sustain our spiritual body with the Word of our Father. We eat food every day for our physical bodies. It is important for us to eat spiritual food every day to make us strong.

The last thing inside the Ark of the Covenant is Aahron’s rod that budded. People were rebelling against the authorities that our Father had established. Each tribe had placed a branch in the Tabernacle of Appointment. Aahron’s branch budded, blossomed and produced almonds in a single night. It was not attached to a tree. It was a cut branch. It was placed in the Ark of the Covenant as a memorial for this event. We do not challenge the authorities Yahuah has established.

And Yahuah said unto Moshe, Bring Aahron’s rod again before the testimony, to be kept for a token against the rebels; and you shall quite take away their murmurings from me, that they die not.

Bemidbar/Numbers 17:10

Our Father has established the authority of Aahron and his sons for the Levitical Priesthood and he has established King David and his sons as the eternal King of Yashar’El. Messiah Yahusha is a son of King David and is the firstborn of the resurrection. These are authorities He has established and we as the House of Yashar’El are to accept and acknowledge these authorities. One characteristic noted of the 144,000 is that they follow the Lamb wherever he goes (Revelation 14:4). They have accepted and acknowledged Yahusha Ben David as our Messiah and King.

The only people allowed into the Set-apart Place was the priests from the Levitical Priesthood.

Therefore, you and your sons with you shall keep your priest’s office for everything of the altar, and within the vail; and you shall serve: I have given your priest’s office unto you as a service of gift: and the stranger that comes near shall be put to death.

Bemidbar/Numbers 18:7

In their perfect state, it was their responsibility to teach the Laws to the House of Yashar’El. This is illustrated in the following passage:

And to Levi he said, Give to Levi his manifestations, and his truth to the set-apart man, whom they tempted in the temptation; they reviled him at the water of strife. Who says to his father and mother, I have not seen you; and he knew not his brethren, and he refused to know his sons: he kept your oracles, and observed thy covenant. They shall declare thine ordinances to Ya’aqob, and your Torah to Yashar’El: they shall place incense in the time of your wrath continually upon your altar. Bless, Yahuah, his strength, and accept the works of his hands; break the loins of his enemies that have risen up against him, and let not them that hate him rise up.

Debarim/Deuteronomy 33:8-11 Brenton Septuagint

In an ideal situation, we are only to allow the sons of Aahron to teach us the Ways of our Father. They are the only ones who “enter” the Tabernacle. The only individual who enters the Most Holy Place is the High Priest and it is only once a year on Yom Kippur or the Day of Atonement.

And this shall be a statute forever unto you: that in the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, you shall afflict your souls, and do no work at all, whether it be one of your own country, or a stranger that sojourns among you: For on that day shall the priest make an atonement for you, to cleanse you, that you may be clean from all your sins before Yahuah.

Vayiqra/Leviticus 16:29-30

We are not to allow anyone who does not teach the Law to enter into our hearts and minds. This is how adultery is like idolatry. When we hear and obey the voice of someone else, we are allowing a stranger to “enter” into our hearts and minds. It is someone besides our Husband, Yahuah Elohiym. We are to be faithful to our Husband and only allow Him to “enter” into our hearts and minds.

Shaul of Tarsus confirms this understanding that we are “Temples” in the following passages:

Do you not know that you are the temple of Elohiym, and that the Spirit of Elohiym dwells in you? If any man defiles the Temple of Elohiym, him shall Elohiym destroy; for the Temple of Elohiym is set-apart, which you are the Temple.

1 Corinthians 3:16-17

Be not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship has righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion has light with darkness? And what common ground has Messiah with Belial? or what part has he that believes with an unbeliever? And what agreement has the temple of Elohiym with idols? for you are the temple of the living Elohiym; as Elohiym has said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their Elohiym, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, says Yahuah, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and you shall be my sons and daughters, says Yahuah Almighty.

2 Corinthians 6:14-18

In the example of the Tabernacle, we are to be pure. If the Laws of Yahuah have been placed in our hearts then it will be manifest in our actions. One of our Father’s Laws is to be yoked only with those who are in covenant with Him.

Neither shall you make marriages with them; your daughter you shall not give unto his son, nor his daughter shall you take unto your son. For they will turn away your son from following me, that they may serve other mighty ones: so will the anger of Yahuah be kindled against you, and destroy you suddenly.

Debarim/Deuteronomy 7:3-4

Our Father and our Messiah follow this Law. They cannot enter into covenant with someone who is unequally yoked with them. They would be transgressing this Law. The Tabernacle of Appointment is an illustration of the kind of individual we need to become before our Father can “enter” into covenant with us and consummate the marriage.

Unfortunately, there are many people who think they are in covenant with our Father but are not. They have been severely deceived by leaders who think they understand the Ways of our Father but do not. Covenants require consent from both parties. Our Father is bound by His own Law as well as our Messiah and they cannot enter into covenant with someone who does not follow the Laws written in the Torah. Our hearts must contain the elements found in the Ark of the Covenant which will manifest in our actions before He will consent.

This is why repentance is so important. The Covenant given at Mount Sinai is our protection and provision when the judgement comes. The 144,000 are found without fault before the throne of Elohiym. They have completed their transition into the Kingdom of Yahuah and mirror the Tent of Appointment.

Based on this evidence, the Set-apart Spirit of Yahuah cannot fill us until we are a mirror image of the Tent of Appointment. There are a number of people in the world who think they have the Set-apart Spirit and do not. People who violate the Laws of our Father written by the Prophet Moshe have not seen Him or known Him.

Whosoever abides in him does not sin: whosoever sins have not seen him, neither known him.

1 Yochanan/John 3:6

This is the truth. Those who practice sin do not have the Set-apart Spirit of Yahuah. In the following testimony, our Father’s Spirit filled the Tent of Appointment.

Then a cloud covered the Tent of Appointment, and the glory of Yahuah filled the Tabernacle. And Moshe was not able to enter into the Tent of Appointment, because the cloud abode thereon, and the glory of Yahuah filled the Tabernacle.

Shemoth/Exodus 40:34-35

Our Father is showing us the pattern. His Set-apart Spirit occupies the Tabernacle of Appointment. In order for His Set-apart Spirit to dwell within us, we need to mirror the image of the Ten of Appointment in the wilderness and later the Temple. Yahusha confirms this and says that we must keep his words and love him before him and our Father will make their abode with us.

Yahusha answered and said unto him, If a man loves me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. He that loves me not keeps not my sayings: and the word which you hear is not mine, but the Father’s which sent me.

Yochanan/John 14:23-24

The words spoken by Messiah Yahusha were not his words. They are the Words of Yahuah who sent him. According to our Messiah, the Word of Yahuah at this time included the Law of Moshe, the Prophets and the Tehillim (Luke 24:44-45). ALL witnesses are in agreement. It is wise for us to make every effort to use the Tent of Appointment as our guide to becoming clean and pure for our bridegroom who will be returning soon.
